Trichur (Thrissur/Thrishivaperur) with its rich history, cultural heritage and archeological wealth is the cultural capital of Kerala, is one of the fastest growing cities of kerala. The Cultural capital of Kerala, Trichur gained prominence under the regime of Raja Rama Varma called shakthan thampuran ruler of Cochin State in 1790.He was the architect of modern Trichur. For the commercial growth of the Town, he brought several Christian business families to Trichur and provided housing and other facilities includes a church for worship. Trichur or Thrissur as it is called locally is well known for Vadakkunathan Temple, and the Thrissur Pooram an annual world famous festival held in the city, the presence of Kerala Kala Mandalam, the Kerala Sahithya Academy, Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy, School of Drama and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy makes more relevant as the status of Cultural Capital. The city and the area around it have a number of museums, art schools, and institutes, which are dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural traditions of Kerala. According to the recent survey conducted by Yahoo Finance, Thrissur,India has been identified as the fastest growing City in the World. As per the Oxford Economics Global Index , Thrissur became the best City in India  in terms of Environment of the city , and the 2nd best in India for the Quality of Life. Thrissur is also the 2nd Richest Small City in India. Trichur is awaiting a real estate boom. Land availability, image of a clean and green city, good law and order situation, fairly good road network, presence of reputed educational institutions and tremendous scope for promoting tourism industry are the pillars of Trichur’s real estate hopes. Cochin international airport is hardly 50 km away from Trichur City. With the new 4 track road hardly take 50min drive to the airport. The city has been upgraded as a corporation in the year 2000. Now it has an area of 101.43 square km and a population of 3, 16,792(as per 2001 census). Temperature varies from 22.50 centigrade to 35.00centigrade. Average rainfall is 254 cm. Thrissur is the Head Quarters  of four banks – South Indian Bank, Dhanalaxmi Bank , CSB Bank,ESAF Bank - are located in the city. Trichur is home to several colleges and 2 universities - the Kerala Agriculture University (KAU) & Kerala Medical University are located here. . Moreover, there are several well-known schools and some reputed coaching classes that prepare students for various all-India entrance examinations. Their presence gives to the city a distinct aura of being an educational capital of Kerala. Around 10 leading hospitals and several film theaters also add to the importance of the city. City having several star hotels and convention centres, with conference halls, business centre’s and other amenities provide the requisite facilities for seminars and conferences to cor-prates.The above factors coupled with availability of affordable housing, competitive commercial real estate and established education centre’s are attracting more and more buyers.
